Jesi and its valley

Jesi has very ancient origins: according to a legend, the city was founded by the King of the Pelasgians, Esio and it became a Roman colony in 247 BC (the ancient Aesis).
Its landscape of sweet hills reveals the action of man through cultivated fields, squared gardens, isolated farmhouses, small villages each with its own history and art.
The fortification of villages with towers, original city walls, churches and buildings testify ancient wars and origins with a glorious past.
Centuries passing over have acted discreetly through: romanic and medieval spaces have been enriches by Renaissance squares, Baroque churches, Neoclassic theaters and buildings.
